...the rest of the camel is incoming: searches of almost everything and everyone proposed. Certain members of our government have become domestic terrorists...and being closer than their hypothetical foreign competitors, they are the more immediate danger.

How are all the photos of TSA taken?
Looking at various airport web sites, all of them seem to prohibit photography and video at the security checkpoints. So where to all the news photos of TSA in action come from?

Address TSA agents by name.
Since they wear name tags, that should be easy. But make a point of asking them for their names anyway. After all, you deserve to know the person who wants to get intimate with you. And it gives them a reminder that they are personally remembered by all those whom they frisk.

The exquisite "logic" of gun control laws.
Imagine a resident Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin, Kentucky or Missouri. This person has a single .22 cartridge in his coat pocket. He is commiting no crime by doing so, isn't hurting anyone and the whole thing is a non-event.
When this person crosses into Illinois, simply having that single cartridge (and I suspect that even a blank round would count) becomes either a class A misdemeanor or a felony. The same exact action that's normal and reasonable in all surrounding states is a serious crime by administrative whim in Illinois.
A person who lives in another state might have a couple of .22 cartridges rolling at the bottom of a truck bed when visiting Illinois...instant criminal. If the cartridges were not there at the start of the trip, how tough would it be to toss one or two into the truck bed while walking over to check the driver's license? After all, civil forfeiture of vehicle is a large part of police budget and they have a powerful incentive to arrest people who are not local and would probably plead to a reduced charge just to avoid prison.
Gun control isn't about guns. It's about capricious, arbitrary and vicious control of the populace.

US authorities don't have a monopoly on idiocy
Kuwait is right up there with DHS in terms of mentally deficient behavior. Banning DSLR cameras has been discussed in satirical article before, but it looks like some governments view "1984" as a lis tof good ideas, not as a warning.

Good gear
My friend Erik makes awesome holsters. Since my 1957 Colt lacks rails, I recently added laser grips. One advantage: no need for new holsters and the activation is truly instinctive. Disadvantage: low-light use only, red isn't visible in daylight.
A great stocking-stuffer from my friend Bret. A high-carbon steel automatic paratrooper knife with a built-in strap cutter, made by Colonial Knives. Check your local laws on carrying or owning automatic knives. One country-wide exception to restrictions is for people with documented handicaps. If you have friends with hand or arm injuries, a switchblade would be a great present. That's where this one is going.
And this light was just close to hand in the studio, so I took a picture of it. For some reason, all my large lights congregate on the weapons or at the studio and I end up carrying 1 AA Fenix mini-light.

Terrorism at the airport.
The point of terrorism is to make its victims feel helpless. If one doesn't know where the next bomb or mass shooting will happen, and the probability of it happening is high, people are afraid. In case of mass shootings, at least people have some chance of fighting back successfully with their own small arms.
For all the brave statements like "if someone molests my spouse/child/parent, I'll hurt them", most people aren't going to get into a losing fight at the airport. They will either avoid future air travel, pester their elected representatives or exact revenge at a more convenient time. But the same people who would overlook an offense to their own dignity are unlikely to forget or forgive an offense against their families.
Some TSA agents are terrorists. Whether they enjoy their jobs or not, they do things every day that traumatize people and they do so with almost complete impunity from either legal prosecution or immediate defensive actions by their victims. Their leadership enables routine transgressions against innocent people in the name of security. The lies aren't convincing anyone. I will be watching the fate of this particular bunch of government-sponsored terrorists with interest.

Just finished watching "Gas gun basics"
The video disc came with JP LPR-07 rifle. I finally got around to watching all of it. I recommend!
First of, excellent sections on optics, trigger control, target selection and interpretation. Good overviews of ammo reloading. It's not an advanced video but just right for beginner to intermediate shooter. I intend to apply the material at the range later today.
Second, this video is great comedy, a bit like Monty Python for gunnies. Better than most of Hollywood's efforts.

357Sig ammo
A friend bought two 50rd boxes of Winchester white box (one FMJ, another JHP) of 357...what he thought was 357 Magnum for his revolver but turned out to be 357Sig when examined at home. He can't return it to the store.
Would anyone in Nashville who uses a 357Sig pistol have an interest in trading for 357Mag ammo or buying it from him outright?

JP LPR-07 and Remington RSASS
Shot them side by side today. I had a good day in general and my rifle marksmanship reflected that. My support is a tractor wagon: that way, I could stay off the muddy ground.
Both rifles had such soft recoil that one of my friends thought he was shooting a 223 rifle.
Great illustration of the importance of sticking to one ammo type, brand and batch. At 50 yards, I got a 0.4" five shot group -- but 2" right and 1" below my point of aim. The reason: the rifle was zeroed with 175gr Georgia Arms match, fired with 168gr Federal Gold match.
Had much fun. Shot 25-06 and .270 bolt rifles, enjoyed both. Shot an inexpensive .22 Savage bolt action with the trigger as good as the two .308 rifles. I may have to get one of those, it's a true diamond in the rough. Shot an AK with a Primary Arms/Ultimak combo. The rifle had soft recoil and shot well for an AK, but I am getting increasingly uneasy with the takedown latch being too close to my face. Not sure what to do about that.
