No poodle shooter this!
.458 SOCOM is a close ballistic match for 45-70 Government cartridge. This rifle (Teppo Jutsu .458 SOCOM upper on a Rock River Arms lower) neatly addresses the main complaint of every small bore user who wanted to go back to the larger previous chambering than the current one. Lucid HD7 sight is used because the rifle has heavier recoil than .223 variants (ranging from about 20ga to 12ga equivalents depending on the load) and the sight stands up to it.
The main uses are medium/large game hunting and bear defense, urban police sniping (especially against barricaded opponents) and showing up .223 users.

A friend started a new firearms-related forum recently. Besides the useful info, they have a couple of giveaways in the works as well. Check the place out.

My favorite short-range scope
Just got another 1-4x scope mount. Can't beat it for the money. Given it's continued survival on my friend's .450 Marlin bolt gun, it should do just fine on 5.56/6.8/.308 AR15 types.

Strange contraption designed to comply with import regulations
Norinco NHM91 was designed to comply with 1989 import rules.
Though it lacks automatic mode, has no pistol grip or flash hider, I doubt it looks any less scary to the gun banners than a genuine Type 56.
